Exceptional pair of 1950s Wrangler Blue Bell cowboy jeans. Early-to-mid 1950s and likely from the early 11MWZ family of western denim. Beautifully worn example of early American workwear, showing decades of genuine use, fading, repair, and reinforcement.
Period details include exposed copper rear-pocket rivets, a riveted coin/watch pocket, seven-belt-loop construction, high-rise western cut, and Wrangler rope-script waist button. Remnants of Wrangler’s signature “W” stitching remain visible on the heavily worn back pockets. The denim has developed a remarkable pale indigo fade with extensive natural wear throughout.
Multiple generations of repairs include large denim reinforcements at the thigh, seat and crotch, along with a striped hickory/ticking-style knee patch. Several repairs have themselves worn through and been repaired again, creating an especially authentic working history. The original zipper was missing and has been replaced to restore functionality; the original identification patch and interior labeling are also no longer present. While an exact year or model cannot be guaranteed, the surviving construction and hardware are consistent with 1950s Wrangler Blue Bell production.
